Dr. D’Andrea is the visionary leader of the Foundation’s research pillar, where she drives strategic and scientific innovation. She shapes our overarching vision and ensures effective execution, oversees our grants and scholarships programs, and pioneers new initiatives that enhance our mission of integrating science with clinical practice. In addition to her leadership at the Foundation, Dr. D’Andrea is an Associate Professor of Psychology at The New School in New York, where she investigates eminent questions in the field and fosters the next generation of changemakers.
Lucy oversees the daily operations of the research pillar and manages our portfolio of global grants and scholarships. She develops new institutes that nurture promising projects and emerging scholars, creating a stronger connection between innovative research and clinical implementation.
Please be aware that the Trauma Research Foundation is not a clinical organization and does not conduct its own research. All research funded by the Foundation is carried out by other researchers and institutions worldwide. Research conducted by Foundation founders and staff — including Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and Dr. Wendy D’Andrea — take place through their affiliations with external institutions.
