The Trauma Research Foundation’s Signature Series with Bessel van der Kolk is the perfect follow-up to his best selling book, The Body Keeps the Score.  This course will cover the latest advances in our understanding of trauma over the last two decades.  Dr. van der Kolk begins by defining trauma and many of its common causes.  He takes us through the history of trauma research and clinical practice.  Dr. van der Kolk discusses the anatomy of the brain and where these phenomena take place in the body.  Case studies with data are presented and reviewed.  Finally, we will consider some potential pathways to healing these traumatic wounds and potential new avenues in the field of trauma research.
