Join us for a thought-provoking conversation between renowned experts Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and Dr. Ed Tronick. This unique opportunity invites you to explore the profound connections between trauma and relational health, which refers to the quality of our relationships and their impact on our emotional and psychological well-being. We will delve into the essential dynamics of parent-child relationships.
The issue of the quality of the parent-child relationship, the microtemporal process of repairing interactive messiness, is one of the essential forces in the universe, and a source of potential happiness, as well as potential misery. Dr. Tronick’s significant contributions to our understanding of attunement and repair in parent-child relationships reveal how these early experiences can profoundly affect long-term patterns of engagement as people develop and grow up.
In this session, we will revisit the lessons learned from Dr. Tronick’s important research on the “Still Face Paradigm,” the organization of parent-child interactions, and their applications for clinical care.
